About
The Masonry Institute of Southern Illinois
The Southwestern Illinois Mason Contractors Association and Masonry Industry Fund, both now know as one entity, the Masonry Institute of Southern Illinois, was formed in October of 1978. Original trustees forming this not-for-profit corporation were James E. Canning, Kenneth L. Jamison, Sr., Dennis A. Roth and Marcus L. Vasquez. The aforementioned trustees along with the support of Bill Bandy and Terry Petri instituted the formation of this organization. A summary of the purpose of establishing this organization includes promoting the general and economic welfare of its members and improving the business of masonry by developing friendships within the industry, providing an exchange of practical and educational data, establishing a high standard of business ethics, prevent dishonest practices, and fostering better public understanding and acceptance of masonry.
